Urinary and fecal incontinence in women
Urinary and fecal incontinence is a common problem in women. Causes of these conditions can be related to pregnancy and childbirth, overweight, pelvic organ prolapse, menopause, stress, psychiatric disorders.
The main diagnostic tests include:
- Disease history review (number of births, frequency of releasing urine from the bladder, other diseases)
- General examination (indicating the signs of bladder- or uterine prolapse, testing the estrogen levels inside woman's vagina)
- Laboratory analysis of the urine to exclude urinary tract infections
- Bladder ultrasound (structural changes in the bladder wall, disturbances in the mechanism of releasing urine from the bladder).
